Happy Friday, lovelies. I hope it's been a wonderful week. As we welcome the weekend, I thought I'd leave you with some encouragement to take time to relax and do some things you love.
I'm often asked how I make time to cook and craft and write and such. It's simple, I truly find joy in doing the things I love. I'm looking forward to spending time this weekend baking the cutest idea from Bakerella, running errands, taking photos of our living room makeover, enjoying a brunch date at Vendome, planning for our trip to L.A. and crafting up some little promo cards for Alexandra's Joys.
I'm so glad you asked. I was hoping someone would! Firstly I didn't plan my glorious weekend, the Lord did. And I'm great with that. It started with 25 youth in our home (the home you know well Alexandra) parading through here on one of their stops during a progressive dinner. We served sliders, mini corn dogs, coconut shrimp and popcorn shrimp. Loved having them here. Late last night i made a hearty vegetable strata which is in the oven right now, that I'l be taking to a ladies brunch. Will pick up three amazing girlfriends on the way. This evening we have 8 friends over for Bible study and cream puffs with a side of barkola. I love my friends. Tomorrow night I'm taking my mom to a concert at her church (the church you know well Alexandra, where you were married almost a year ago!) to hear the Moody Bible Choir Concert. After that I'll meet up with four girls who are in the choir and bring them back here as billets. On Monday morning, with little brown bag lunches in hand, I will deliver them back their bus at the church. I've planned a fun lunch for them, wraps, nuts, fruit and little hand written notes of encouragement as they are on the road... yes, a great weekend...
I wish to brighten your day with a little inspiration. Inspiration to try something new. Inspiration to find joy in cooking and crafting, entertaining and styling, writing and sharing. I’m Alexandra Joy and I have many joys to share.
