Our living room has come a long way from bachelorville when it boasted glaring white walls, mellow brown accents and way too much NBA on the oversized flat screen. It is now a perfect, cozy mix of feminine and whimsical, country and rustic- a nod to both our tastes and styles.
This mini makeover was a labour of love thanks to my in-laws, friends and family, who happily lent a paintbrush, an opinion or patience to the process.
Here's a peek at the lonely and uninspiring before situation:
Now stop judging us and enjoy our new found warmth and charm:
Both the paint and wallpaper are from Walls Alive, a boutique home retailer that gladly answered many of our rookie questions. The paint is called, Subterfuge and is by C2 Paint. The wallpaper is called, Dolce Vita and is by Antonina Vella.
The old barn windows were a discovery from an antique store. We cleaned them up and mounted them on the wall to showcase, as well as break up the long blue feature wall.
We loved the windows paired with the industrial-style pendant lights complete with vintage bulbs.
To balance the golden whimsy of the wallpaper and richness of the wall colour, we added rustic touches and pretty accents in white, rust and a mix of country inspired patterns.
Driftwood mirror - Crate & Barrel
Barn windows - Antique Junction
Pendant lights - Anthropologie
Quilt - Winners (recognize her from our wedding photos?)
Oil lamp - vintage
Vintage travel trunk - Space Untitled
Light switch cover - Anthropologie
Come for a movie night, apps and drinks, or I guess, a little March Madness soon?

it looks lovely! I LOVE the wallpaper.
I can't wait to actually decorate my own place... though it may come out more African themed than I ever thought possible.
I LOVE it! You have great style! Surprise, surprise... :) I can't wait to spend some time in that living room.
I like the before better...
JUST KIDDING. It looks awesome, I like being able to spy Anthropologie in there. Is it an apartment? Or is it your guys' own home?
I love it! It looks absolutely amazing
