The entryway in a house is like a first impression. It’s your initial glimpse into what you might expect getting to know a person or in this case, a home.
We’ve had a lot of fun organizing and decorating our house and I’m excited to announce that we’ve officially completed one room, the front entry. For all you other renters out there, you understand wanting to make your place cozy without investing too much because of your limited stay. I've come to terms with the boring floors and walls and focused instead on adding fun pieces and personal details that make for a warm and friendly welcome.
The perfect way to jazz up a neutral floor is a large bright and bold patterned mat. This Urban Outfitters rug adds colour and covers our mellow floor.
Yet another great find at Steeling Home, these hooks are made from antique doorknob hardware and vintage keys. They're great for hanging scarves and hats.
Audrey is one of the girliest pieces of décor I brought to our marriage. It's from Ikea and fit perfectly above the stairs. She’s a lovely sight when we return home and the pizza guy always seems to make a comment.
This giant conversation starter discreetly made its way home from Urban Barn shooting through the sunroof of Chris’s Honda Civic.
Our favourite part of the entryway is our photo wall. I love passing the black and white collage of our family and friends. A wedding photo is featured as a colourful pop in the collection.
Our guests must still endure stark white walls in the living room, no curtains in the kitchen and bare shelves that need love, but I can guarantee you a lovely welcome when you walk in. Come over soon.

Love the red pop of colour on the wall. I might have to steal it for the very uninspired decor happening at my house (ie: we've done absolutely nothing). Great inspiration!
Love!!! Can't wait to get there!!
Looks Awesome!
i love how the photo wall has come together!.. i love how you blog on the simple things in life... i love how you make a condo into a warm home for you and chris..
I have to say I totally noticed your awesome entry way when we came to visit in December. The photo wall is unique and personal and the chair is a definite conversation starter. Love it!
