Pattern mixing is my favourite right now and these cork boards went up in our laundry room/pantry, so I felt good about using bold colours and pattern. You might recognize the leftover fabric I used from our photo booth at our rehearsal dinner. Cotton fabric works great but I'd love to do a board with burlap or linen. Lace would be awesome too.
How to craft it:
1) Iron your fabric and cut out a piece 3 inches bigger than your cork board. Simply place the board on top of your desired fabric and cut away the extra.
2) Glue gun all four sides of the board and pull the fabric firmly to secure it to the cork.
3) Attach your awesome new cork boards to a wall using double sided tape. I used 3M Heavy-Duty Mounting tape.
4) Pin as you like! Because the cork I used was really thin, I used sewing pins with colourful tips.
Here's a few sources for the cutest thumbtacks:
Pass on some photos if you decide to make your own fabric boards. I'd love to see what you create. Happy crafting.
