Today I'm delighted to kick off a series of posts featuring some amazing wedding professionals. These informal interviews are a fun way to showcase some great talent and highlight people and businesses that have been a big inspiration to me and the development of Pink & Honey.
Our first gal is my passionate and sweet friend, Blair, of Blair Marie Photography. When I think of Blair, I think of coffee, Polaroid cameras and pink lipstick! I hope you're inspired...

When and why did you start to pursue photography?
I started to pursue photography when I graduated from SAIT. I studied journalism and realized I loved the photographic aspect of it way more than writing. All my life my parents had bought me film for my little point and shoot and I would take it to school and take pictures of all my friends. It just made sense to go after photography in a more professional sense. I found a very inspiring photographer on the internet who had quit her law school education at Harvard to pursue photography and it really made me feel like I could do it too!
What do you love most about your job?
I love interacting with people and making them laugh. My favorite part in the process is the actual shoot itself. I am a people person through and through and talking to people and capturing little emotions that sneak out when they are comfortable with you is thrilling.
How do you stay inspired and creative?
Keeping up with other photographers work to see what they are doing and trying. As well, I spend a lot of time on Pinterest finding all sorts of inspiration. I also try and surround myself with friends and family who support me and of course, doing shoots whenever possible so I'm always challenging myself.
What advice would you give to brides to get the most from their wedding photos?
Have fun and have an engagement shoot with your photographer. The best way to get the most out of your wedding photos is establishing an awesome relationship with your photographer, which is where an engagement shoot comes in. It's a chance for you to work together before the wedding day and start building that relationship that is going to make you more like friends on your big day.
How would you describe your personal style?
My personal style is pretty classic. I love looking like a lady and lately my favorites are tall boots and lipstick! My daily work style is casual as I work in a coffee shop so lot's of jeans and t-shirts. My home style is cozy. I love being at home, making a delicious dinner, watching movies and relaxing with my love.
Where can you be found on a Saturday afternoon?
Most likely slinging espressos at Phil & Sebastian Coffee Roasters. If not, hopefully I'm shooting!
Thanks for the peek inside your world, Blair! Make sure to pop over to her blog to see more beautiful work.
