Yesterday, my lovely friend Blair and I, planned a Champagne and Crafts night to connect and inspire some of our most creative friends. Expect bubbly, sweet and savory treats, and of course some fabulous crafting.
I used this great new app on my iPad called Red Stamp to send pretty invitations.
We gathered ideas from Pinterest and felt drawn to mason jars, lace and white paint. The plan is to provide the materials and allow guests to do the rest. Create as they feel inspired.

Next steps are to make a playlist and plan a menu with both sweet and savory goods. Mini cupcakes? Macaroons? Tea sandwiches? Crudites? What kind of treats would you serve with champagne and crafts?
Can't wait to share the craft night photos with you soon.

Savory? I would do mini bacon rolls with sugar, pecans and paprika.
Pre-heat your oven to 400 F
Mix a bit of sugar, paprika and a little bag of chopped pecans in a small bowl.
Cut your pieces of bacon in half.
Sprinkle a bit of the sugar, paprika and pecans on the bacon slices and roll up.
Put a tiny little pecan piece on top of each roll to make them look cute and delicious.
I think I put mine in for 15-20 minutes. Just keep an eye on them till the bacon looks done!
DELICIOUS!
Ah I was so excited to get an e-vite. Maybe I can road trip and come play. I like the idea of mini sandwhiches.. mini croissants with brie and cranberries, toasted baguette with olive spread, etc!
I love it all!! I want to make those jars! They're beautiful!
Crostinis are always yummy, and can be topped with so many different things: (Mindy's) Honey and Gorgonzola is one of my new favorites. Or, mushroom and gruyere; brie, caramelized onions and walnuts; cream cheese, jam and parmesan; apple (Granny Smith), peach jam and brie; peach, basil and reduced balsamic vinegar; zucchini, garlic and parmesan... and the list goes on. These are one of my favorite things to make. Oh, and there's always the Poor Man's Roosevelt!!! Simple, easy and so good!!
Wish I could come!
Barkola, a recipe I invented and tucked into my new book "(Gasp) I Have an Idea!" (which you have graciously blogged about) on page 269!
Sounds divine AJ!! I want to join!
can't wait!
