In order to cope, I bought some new boots...

... and made some homemade bread.
I can always count on the Pioneer Woman to offer a homey, comforting bread recipe. Her Bloomin' Herb Bread recipe is easy and gives you the option to mix in your choice of herbs. I used fresh thyme. I'm thinking of serving it with a hearty stew for Sunday dinner with friends.
So while I'm pouting about the leaves changing, I have to admit I'm secretly planning Fall outfits, excited about new television shows starting and happy my house smells like a bakery.
How are you kicking off the season?

Two of the best things about fall! Maybe you can help me on my hunt for new brown boots? Canning also seems like an appropriate fall activity? xo
I can't wait for fall!!! I'm already planning soups and stews for our menu, even though there are some 90 degree days in the forecast. Our oven has been broken for over two weeks, so I'm excited to bake bread to go with the soups and stews. And to wear jeans and sweaters and boots. It's my favorite time of the year. Plus, our anniversary is in the fall, so it makes it even sweeter. :)
A round of golf with my girlfriends, with a stunning view of autumn surrounding us, a hint of a chill in the air, punctuated with a mocha at the end of the morning!
I too also like Pioneer Woman's blog as well. So many wonderful ideas.
Autumn is by far my favorite season. Changing leaves are the sign of cozy evenings, warm food and the best fashion season!!
Getting out boots and scarfs, crisp morning walks to school, roasting a chicken...
